Crestwood has recently been awarded the designation of “Bee City USA.” It’s notable that Crestwood is the first city in Missouri to earn this designation.
Bee City USA aims to protect pollinators by enabling affiliates to: Raise awareness, Enhance habitats and Celebrate achievements.
A bee hive in Whitecliff park is being planned for this spring as part of an Eagle Scout project. We’ll let you know when the bee hive is setup and its location.
A current Crestwood resident is also planning a Beekeeping program in June – more details to follow soon.
Right now, you can attract bees and other pollinators by planting nectar plants and not using insecticides in your garden.
