Plant these seeds ASAP. Note – this was in March.
You may not get many blooms the first year, but they should bloom well in year two.
Make sure the planting area is clear of weeds and grass.
There are approximately 300 seeds, so give them as much space as you can.
I like to mix the seeds with potting mix which has perlite so the area is easy to see.
Cover the seeds lightly after sowing.

- Aster Smooth – no plants visible
- Bergamot – Bee Balm – quite a few plants – no blooms.
- Echinacea – Purple coneflower
- Ironweed – no plants visible
- Lanceleaf Coreopsis – one plant showing
- Lobelia Blue – no plants visible.
- Penstemon – Foxglove Beardtongue – no plants visible.
- Plains Coreopsis – flowers showing in August
- Purple Prairie Clover – one plant showing in August
- Sunflower – Oxeye or False sunflower – one plant with blooms in August.
- Rudbeckia hirta – usually an annual Black eyed susan – LOTS of blooms.
- Rudbeckia subtomentosa. Sweet Black Eyed Susan – no plants visible.
- Vervain – blue or hoary – some plants visible.
