A “Little Free Library” was recently installed in Spellman Park by the Tahiti Drive entrance. The motto of the “Little Free Library” program is “Take a book, share a book”.
The website for the program states that “Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world”.
The library in Spellman park was the brainchild of Matt Koppen and Carrie Gobble, members of the Tahiti Island group which has been planting the islands on Tahiti Drive. The library was purchased with funds from the Crestwood Beautification Committee grant and private donations.
Matt and Carrie built, painted and installed the library; the books were donations from various people.
It is our hope that everyone who passes by takes time to check out the books and takes a book if desired. Anyone is also welcome to leave a book.
Thank you Matt and Carrie!
